Since you've been gone...
possibly mature...i have no idea o_o
While it had only been three years since her last visit to these lands, Lurid felt as though it were a lifetime ago. Kichi and Alastor's laughter rang in her ears in haunting echoes, her own dual-toned laughter mixing with it. Such a long time to realize there had been no joy for the miserable queen, ripped away from her king and her little prince, not to mention the jester. Lurid sat cloaked in darkness once again, foul thoughts of how she was cheated out of her life by some deity rolling through her troubled mind. In moments like these, Lurid would have turned to Alastor for a soothing word or other comforts, but in the last few years, she had only been able to turn to herself.
Mirovis was even more treacherous when she suddenly appeared in the middle of a pack member challenging her sister for leadership, finding that the weaker Amarix woman had nearly lost her crown and control over the devils that followed Lurid. Rage had consumed her, madness was all she knew in those three years as she wrestled for control once again. The battles had seen to it that the brutal queen still held her crown, but with only siblings to rule over the remaining of her pack, Lurid wasn't ruling much. The only ties she left behind were family that knew better than to cross her, and this sealed her return to Boreas.
This was no time to live in the past, however, as Lurid had things to do before she was too old to do them. With no idea what her small family had been up to in the past three years and no way to find out without meeting any ire, Lurid wondered how they had fared but needed to put thoughts of them aside as she had done numerous times. There had been countless attempts to come home, to explain the things that happened to her and reunite with her family, but since day one the entity that had banished her made sure she could not return. Pale gaze was made eerily white by the lack of light, her clouded left eye seemed almost like a small moon, the woman looking more like a pale, golden ghost sitting in the darkness. How did one get back at a god? The moon goddess did not want to risk teleportation again, that had cost her a whole month last time. Being instantly flashed across an ocean while still in searing pain and finding that you were ripped away from everyone and everything you ever loved or cared for has a way of turning one mad.
As always, Alastor was at the forefront of her mind and she wrestled herself trying to live in the present - a constant battle for the pale devil. Seeing as the ground was not soaked in blood, she could only assume he was doing well, possibly even happy. Could she blame him if he had moved on? Not really, she could only imagine what he must have thought of her sudden disappearance. There was a big piece of her that felt rage at the thought of him with another, but she would not blame her dark king, had the roles been reversed she would have probably sought comfort with another. Righting her thoughts, Lurid assured herself that there could be a Mirovis without a king if he had moved on. Perhaps she should try to seek out Kefka and his little daughter if they even still remained in Boreas. Foul mood and foul thoughts plagued her, but she didn't move, simply sat staring into the dark and watching memories in her mind. She would seem an angry statue to anyone who passed, even her breaths could hardly be noticed in the biting cold.
