Alaois had decided to take a trip to the North, partially in hopes of seeing Calida, should the woman still be around, but also for himself. He felt as though he’d been slacking lately, and that simply wouldn’t do. Ala was not the lazy sort by nature, but perhaps in his waiting for the Phoenix of War he had allowed his own skills to fall to the wayside. Maybe that was why the puma had gotten the jump on him? Not that it had lived to tell the tale, of course. With Kotori’s help Alaois had turned the other predator from a threat to a nice cape that drapped acros his upper body. It was welcome this far in the North were chillier temperatures.
Though Alaois had not gotten as far north as he could have the chilly temperatures could be felt. Ala was not fond of the cold, though he tolerated it as he stepped through the autumn leaf litter at his feet. Freshly fallen leaves, not yet decayed into the ground, were at his paws. This wasn’t surprising, given the season. The man hummed to himself, glancing up from the crispy leaves to the massive redwood forest he had come across. The trees were massive, some even bigger than that! It was amazing to think a forest had grown to this size - it had to practically be ancient.
Cool hued eyes flicked from the trees to what he could make of the landscape around him. There was no pack scent present here, so it didn’t belong to a pack, although there was the faint smell of a loner here and there. Alaois gave a soft snort. He didn’t mind loners, per sae, but without Calida in the picture trying to collect followers was near pointless. Maybe that was what lead him to feel so frustrated lately. He would have loved to do more for the woman, but it was near impossible to be attentive to someone who wasn’t here. Perhaps she had returned to her father and brother, after all. Left him behind.
Alaois gave a soft snort at the thought. Time would tell. His ears flicked forward, and the sound of something, or someone else moving through the leaves caught his attention. The male tossed his head back, gaze narrowing as he waited to see who might come around one of the red woods.
