Lyra saw the wolf travelling for the battlefield with the pup in his mouth a little while back. He looked determined, trotting along the way he was, and the pup was attempting to fight his hold on her. She didn't budge, as she was a mere pup and he was a fully grown adult wolf... smaller than her, but still an adult wolf. And this pup was particularly small... well, okay, she actually wasn't entirely certain. She didn't spend much time around young puppies, and this was a young puppy. Undersized, oversized, right sized, she wasn't certain. But certainly not old enough to be determinedly carried towards.. somewhere.
Carefully, she trailed them. She stayed far enough back to not be seen, and attempted to stay downwind. Either the male didn't care or didn't notice and she was left alone. Quickly, it became clear that the male was headed for the battlefield. What on earth? Why? That made her even more determined to trail them. She paused as the pup was unceremoniously dropped on the ground, and frustration flared through her. What? Why?
Without hesitation she approached the pup, pausing and looking down at her. "I'm Lyra. What's your name?" Her tone was a bit softer than normal, but still strong; she wasn't going to treat this puppy like it was totally incapable of conversation. Emotional regulation? Nah. Always coherent? Also nah. But capable of conversation and deserving of respect as a living being? Yeah.
