Lavender's Blue, Dilly, Dilly

It wasn’t the first time that Gavroche had set out to gather herbs, nor was it the first time he had set out to gather this particular one. Lavender appeared to be the only thing that could soothe his wife, and though he she had managed to bring Saga home, she seemed even more on edge, and worried, than she had been when the child was under Ignis’ “care”. Saga had come back unharmed, but Bellamy seemed very bothered by how long Saga was with Ignis, and the fact that the cub had seemed to make friends. The man knew his wife was balancing a hard decision on her chest. While she didn’t want to restrict Saga, or forbid her from seeing those she had formed bonds with, she wanted the cub nowhere near Ignis… and Gavroche coudln’t blame her.

Not that his wife was a saint but… it seemed every time she and Ignis came together her demons liked to try and rear their ugly heads. The last thing Gavroche wanted was for Bells to have another breakdown, and so collecting more lavender had been at the top of his priorities. Thankfully, during her travels, Bellamy had found a wonderful location that wasn’t claimed by a pack and so, that was where Gavroche was headed. He set off with his bag, Jessie, and James in tow, though the tiny bat was more content to nap in her usual spot behind his ear as he traveled.

Arriving at the garden Gavroche made a mental note to check for other needed herbs here before he left. He began to pad forward, through the different blooms, his green gaze sweeping the land before landing on a young woman right by the plant he’d been hunting for. The tiny man approached her, ears perked forward, as he spoke in a calm, soft tone in hopes that he wouldn’t startle her. “The lavender is beautiful, isn’t it? It is so calming as well.”
