Skirmish in the Sand

The boy said he wouldn't mind getting his mass kicked by her and threw in a wink. Ugh. Teenagers. Sparrow made a mental note to beat him into the ground a little extra hard- just so he'd feel it and regret his words tomorrow. No real hostility, and she wasn't appalled or grossed out by his remarks, she'd probably say the same if she were him and up against someone like herself.

Sparrow's shoulder made contact and she felt the wind leave the boy. Good. Her eyes narrowed slightly, focusing past the haze of her brain as her teeth seized his scruff. He snarled and flailed, his teeth finding Sparrow's cheek. They were locked in, and Sparrow assumed she had the upper hand. As the boy struggled to steady himself, Sparrow pushed harder, pulling up on his scruff and trying to wrap a foreleg up and around his neck, hoping to contort his body enough to collapse him and- if she was lucky- choke him right out.
