The woman was quick but so was Gil. Agile and practiced, he felt her weight shift backward away from him. She misses the smooch of his fangs but he continues to watch her. Pulling his own weight back to restabilize his center of gravity, he sees her dart back in. Two would play this game, huh? Gil couldn't help but smirk as she aimed for his neck. Light on his paws, he leaned away from her strike before twisting his shoulder back toward her muzzle. Hoping his chainmail would strike her where it hurt, he nearly missed her next weight change.

Distracted by his counterattack, he saw from the corner of her eyes as her tail shifted to help her balance as a paw raised up. Without much time to dodge, he let her paw come down between his toes. A bout of pain made his insides clench but he was ready. Gritting his teeth, he quickly retaliated by going back in for another bite toward her face. Ensuring that his fangs were fully flipped down, he aimed slightly higher along her cheek, closer to her ear. If all of her weight was pressed onto his foot, it would be hard for her to find time to dodge his oncoming fangs.
