As her opponent reached out to swipe at her paws, the girl stumbled forward with her jaws opened wide, partially in shock, but also aiming to grab the thick fur and loose skin around the other wolfs ruff (with an aim to hold and not to pierce or tear). If she managed to gain some purchase, she would push with all her might to try and force the other fighter to the ground.
