First Point of Light

Excitement swells in Andy’s chest as the finishing touches are being put on her observation post. Carefully, the little army push and pull the wagon filled with fragile glass up the winding path of First Point Light. Even though she is extremely eager to finish her post, the girl knows that rushing this would result in even more waiting. So, she is careful and does exactly what her father tells her to do when he tells her.

Sirius is wise in ways that Andy has not yet attained and the youth is at least intelligent enough to know when to take a backseat on things. Finally, the army arrives at the base of the structure and Andy moves to the rope pully they had set up. Turning to look at her father, she perks her ears to listen and nods firmly, saying, “Okay!” She readies herself and grabs the rope, slowly moving backward and taking the rope with her. Ears strain to catch her father’s voice, not wanting a pull second longer than she should when he tells her to stop.
