rough and tumble

Since they are now free to roam close to the dens, Unagi has spent as much time as she can outside. While the sun does tend to make her pink eye sore, she cannot pass up the chance to frolic through the tall grass… which is in the process of doing. The soft blades tickle her fat belly as she bounds boldly through the area, snapping at passing insects in an effort to try and catch them. Leaping up, she fails to catch a passing dragonfly and, instead, flops over onto her back. Huffing, she rolls to her belly and pushes herself back up onto all fours.

With a mighty shake, she rids her pelt of any dirt that has tried to hitch a ride. Bored with trying to catch insects, she scents the air to try and find another prey to take on. Unagi finds her sister, Maki’s, scent upwind from her and the pup grins to herself as she crouches low and begins to stalk toward her target. Staying silent, she approaches where her sister is and comes to a halt. Maki seems to be trying to practice something and the pup in the grass settles in to watch. From what she sees it seems like Maki is attempting to fight… the air.

Brows lift as she simultaneously stands and calls out, “You’re doin’ it wrong.” There is no judgement in her voice as she trots up to where Maki is and comes to stand near her. Casting her gaze toward her sister, Unagi says, “Here. Try it like this.” She spreads her front paws out until they are underneath her shoulders and easily bends her knees until she is crouching. Head tilts as she waits to see if Maki tries the stance out.
