I could never find the right way to tell you

After having spent so much time without being able to see the world around him the young man had a lot of catching up to do.  With an adventurous spirit, wild imagination, and a desire to explore all he hadn’t seen yet the creek was a perfect spot for Corbin to wander.  

Hopping from one side of the creek to the other, bouncing off rocks, and shoving his nose into the cattails were all fun moments.  Ducklings were spotted at one point near the river with unhappy parents watching Corbin from a slight distance.  Corbin wasn’t interested in killing ducklings, if he wanted to try hunting he would at least go for the adults.  Today was about enjoying sights though, not spilling blood.

Paws created small splashes as he walked through the water he found an exposed root of a large tree that was creating an arc from the ground to the bottom of the creek.  Silvery fish darted through their bridge, a thick mossy bottom held its own secrets of baby fish hiding within.  Corbin stuck his muzzle in the water, nose tapping at the moss causing bubbles to flow to the surface with exhaled breath.  

Corbin raised his head, sneezing out water, shaking the water from his muzzle.  After sneezing the bore took a deep inhale of fresh air and with that picked up the scent of his dad.  Looking towards his dad’s scent, passed Rocky’s grazing form he spotted the winged form of his small father.  Dad had once seemed considerably larger than the younger Corbin but that had all changed now that he was nearly a year old.  Still, regardless of size Dad was dad and larger in his own way.

After a moment of waiting he ran towards Dad, with the joyfulness of youth he ran as if he’d charge into Dad, muscles tensing right before and leaping as high as he could to leap over Dad, he’d make it unless Dad made any quick motions to make himself bigger or a longer jump.  “Hey, dad!”
