Alastor

Kichi had finally gotten use to the existence of living in a pack at some point. He’d been able to sleep deeper without concern of surprise predators, or the awkwardness that use to come with any strangers walking by too close with his guard down. Heck, in the pack he didn’t even need to keep such a close eye on Torch since every wolf knew the little deer was his.
This was better though. Just Alastor, Torch, and Kichi roaming the land on their own, no other wolves in sight. The red forest brought with it memories of years back and bittersweet memories. For a time he’d avoided this forest for all the horrible memories of Lurid but it also held memories of being the young pup that got to play with Alastor. The black and red giant had been just what he’d needed back then and the one Kichi had missed most when all was gone.
Today they were going to have some fun though. They had caught the faint scent of a male elk. Kichi had ended up with a number of scars when a much smaller and more helpless version of himself had tried attacking one. Today Al and Kichi would get to work together to kill another elk. Al had kids and a lot of responsibilities in his pack station, these moments were precious and too rare.
Summer had come to Boreas but this far north there was still a chill in the air. The sun was in the sky but with all the tall trees it dimmed the sun’s effect and splashed pale shadows across the ground. “I hope you haven’t slowed down with age,” Kichi teased Alastor.
