A pup’s first fighting lesson

Hattori watched, curious to how the pup would deal with this. If it were a bigger or more pressing threat he would doubtless step in to assist, but the Kaicho considered this a good learning moment for the young boy, a strong start when it came to learning about how to hold his own. The dark pup let out a pained cry, aside from puppy tussles with his siblings this was likely the first time he'd experienced pain, real pain that made his nerves light up. But it was a feeling all wolves needed to get used to, for life was full of pain and suffering, how one coped was the most important part. The boy had a natural talent though, pressed through it all and kept up the attack, perhaps he would keep its skin as a trophy, proof of a battle fought and won.
