Be an explorer, not a tourist

The pup soon learned that sometimes there would be days where he could see just fine, while other times the black ooze that poured from his eyes would be too thick and obstructive for him to do much of anything at all until he found a workaround. It would take months before he began to resent the defection and hold a deep-rooted grudge against his parents for.. well.. whatever the hell they did to curse his birth. For now though he was just a little guy without a care in the world, and today was a rare day, for mischief was on the boy's mind.

He hadn't been stalking his sister for long before she seemingly began to catch on. It appeared as if she'd caught a scent on the wind, likely his own. Her head swiveled as she attempted to locate something, probably the source of whatever it had been that she smelled, meaning she'd been looking for him. Aw, no fun. How was he going to give her a spook now? He stood completely still, as if that would somehow prevent the fae from catching a glimpse of his vivid blue frame against the contrast of the surrounding landscape.
