Love and a cough cannot be hidden

Fuji sat on the shore and watched the manatees bob in the distance, or were they turtles? It was hard to tell at this distance and with the sun glaring in her eyes. She'd come out here to find Tori, her dad, or Kuroo, or anyone that was just a bit older than she was, if only to take her mind off the challenges that would soon face her younger siblings. She had always thought that she wanted to do nothing more than become a great warrior, but that otherworldly night had tipped the young girls world on its head.

Tenshi was gone, and there was nobody left to step into her mother's shoes if she was out of action, as she had been since the birth of her siblings. Even now, Fuji's finger like paws itched to be back in the infirmary, just in case the bleeding started again, or a fever started, or something else terrible happened. Her urge to care had swelled up and swallowed her desire to fight.

If only Wari or Rheum were here. They'd be able to brainstorm a better solution between themselves, surely?
