It's a tiger

Kotori was in good spirits.  He had spent a few days wondering if Ochi would agree to stay in his pack and now that she’d agreed his bigger goal was one step closer.  Would she be the one?  When they had more time to get to know each other would she prove to be his future mate?  Kotori was damn tired of waiting for the perfect woman but he refused to go for anything but the best.

Kotori slowed as he scented the animal.  The waterfall was in the line of sight farther off and from behind some trees closer to the wolves came a tiger.  Its legs and belly were wet, water making the cat’s coat give off a slick sheen.  Apparently, the tiger had its bath and didn’t care to share its resting spot.  

The cat snarled and Kotori showed his fangs back, whispering softly, “Playtime.” Kotori ran to meet the tiger, twisting around to its left side right as it tried to pounce and bite where his head had been.  The wolf used its horns to slash at the tiger’s legs as he went by.  He got a scratch, but mostly just fur.  The irritating thing on the large cats is how they moved faster than the bears.
