After their last meeting, they had never received official word on who they were going to scout. Of course, Aresenn had gone to tour the hallows on his own, but upon his return … things felt different. Of course, he hadn’t interacted with her directly, though it seemed that Sparrow had surrendered to grief. There had been a lot of loss in his short life.

Ever since the meeting he had with his older brother, things had felt different. He wanted to blame the change on the Pirates as a whole. But perhaps it was he who had changed as well. His father plainly stated that he expected better of his children than the haphazard nature of their pack … and that had resonated with him fairly deep. He expected better of himself. While he wasn’t a model perfectionist, there was quite a bit that had left him with feelings of frustration. Maybe that was his gift taking over. Nonetheless, he had adapted into a catalyst for change. And as things continued to trail off … it seemed that he wasn’t the only one who had done so.

It wasn’t Sparrow who called this gathering, but Gilgamesh. He called out for the assembly and assured them that no one would want to miss out, though Aresenn clearly did. Begrudgingly, he headed out to the beach to witness the Unholy Sin stake his claim to leadership. The Praetor boy harbored no ill feeling towards the man’s intentions. And as he spotted his Sister and Calico Jack sitting together, he would drift their way. As he passed Jack to veer toward’s Rivin’s opposite side, he hesitated. Offering a half-sided grin to the other boy before tilting his head in silent farewell. He wasn’t much for goodbyes. Continuing on to his sister, he leaned in close, whispering near her ear. “I’ll find you later,” Aresenn assured her. That was going to require a conversation, and he didn’t want to ruin Gil’s claim.

With a final look over his shoulder toward the new call to leadership, he offered one last nod, before moving to leave the beach. Whatever Pirates Plunder was getting ready to become, he was certain that it was in everyone’s best interest that he split off on his own now.
