This hunt would be a bit of a tricky one what with the calf aware of the two predators. But he was experienced enough in these sorts of things, and he blended in better than Malachai did. Malachai was silent much like himself, however, so he would rely on body language and instinct for this one. Something else he was better at than talking, of course. Ears stood at attention as the calf called for its herd, though regardless if they could hear it, they would not be arriving in time to save it.

Grim drew closer, pausing every now and then whenever the calf looked his way, but it seemed that perhaps his horns were throwing it off, too. After all, what predator had horns that were like that of a prey animal? But once its attention returned to Malachai and stayed there, Grim took the opportunity to get closer. He raced in, body low to the ground and eyes locked on the young ox as it moved a bit, attention fully on his hunting partner. He carefully slunk around the rocks, using them to hide himself until he was within striking distance. Once close enough, Grim lunged forth, wrapping his teeth around a hind leg and effectively using his weight to unbalance it and drag the calf to the ground.
