Malachai mostly kept his gaze on the calf, watching it watch him, he wanted to make sure that he was keeping an eye out for the calf bolting, but it seemed that his hunt partner was quick on the uptake and was closing the gap quickly, the calf seemed to notice too late, it's ears swivelling and body tensing to bolt but the smaller brown man's leap took him right to the hind leg. Malachai snapped into action, springing forwards to aid in bringing the calf to the ground, his jaws sought to grip the calf's throat, an easy enough grab now that it was turning to low and try to get at the attacker behind it. He pushed against the calf, using it's lack of balance and his own strength to topple it, repositioning his jaws to clamp down on the calf's windpipe, holding it until the twitching and fighting and hoarse lowing stopped. Malachai stepped back, tongue swiping at his now blood stained lips and he graced his pack mate with a small, bloody smile and a nod in recognition of the man's work and skill.

He stepped back to let his companion stake a claim on a part of the calf before he would claim his own, whatever was left they could drag to the food storage, all in all, not too bad for a spur of the moment hunt.
