Finish Line

It felt like she'd never catch her breath. She had lost track now with how much she'd been fighting today and over the last few days. How many had she won? How many had she lost? How many ended up in a tie? She hadn't even been keeping track of any of that! All she had been doing was going up against anyone and everyone she could in an effort to prove to...well...the universe, she supposed, that she was strong. Not so much in the sense of literal physical prowess, no, she didn't give a damn about that. But spiritually? Maybe? She didn't know anymore. She had passed all the trials life had thrown at her over the years, but for some reason, in the back of her mind, she just had to keep proving she was capable. Maybe it was her subconscious clinging to the negative memories of her past...but of course, another thing she didn't fully acknowledge or really realize.

"You're so stupid!"......"You deserve to die!"...."Nothing but a dumb slave!"....."You'll always be nothing!"...."Medusa."

Her eyes snapped open to find a huge black figure close by, though once she quickly realized it was a friendly, she didn't really bother jumping to her feet. Besides, even if he had been an unfriendly sort, her companions had her back while she was resting. "Ardyn! Medusa is not taking a nap, she was just-" She made to gesture at her previous opponent, but realized the guy had taken off pretty quickly. Oh well! She turned back to Ardyn with a huge grin, "Medusa is just practicing!"
