Her paw itched. Toes wiggling as each muscle in her body froze with tension. Watching Maki creep toward the edge to peer over sent all of her motherly instincts into overdrive. Unlike Venom, Celeste would not be able to grab Maki and drag her back over the edge. The pup was already growing large, practically matching Cel in height by now, so there would be no chance in saving her and they would both go tumbling over for sure. But Cel trusted her pups. She had to make sure they knew what freedom was as long as they were safe about it. If Maki did try to even reach a paw over the edge, she would corral the pup back to a safer distance. For now though, the splotched monochrome darling was decently safe. She tried to breathe and keep a smile on her face. Switching her weight from left to right as she also crept forward to peer down into the red dirt depths. “Ah, water did once reside here. That’s how these rocks formed,” Cel raises a paw to point at the spindly rocks dotted about the ravine. “A very long, long, long time ago, this land use to all be flat actually. Then at some point, water came rushing through and wore down the rocks until they made this ravine,” she even added the sound effects to include noises of rushing water and leaned back on her paws to move them around so Maki hopefully got a better idea of what had happened. |
