i have absolutely no clue
The pure terror that seemed to claim the diminutive fae immediately after he spoke was heartbreaking, and he scolded himself mentally for not making his approach more obvious. Usually the plodding gait and subtle vibrations of his bulk moving down the tunnel gave him away, but it was easy to miss if you hadn't grown up in these tunnels. He held still for a few beats, joints loosening to further lower his burly frame towards the cool stone floor. He was plenty patient, and he could wait until she felt safe enough to open her eyes again. One brilliant blue eye squeaked open, pupil wide as it fixed on him. Then the other opened, and the young warrior's eyes crinkled in the corners as he smiled at her- lips carefully kept closed over his teeth. The fae opened and closed her mouth, shook her head lightly. There was a gesture made with one tiny paw towards her mouth and throat, and it took a moment for him to recognize what was going on. "Oh," he gasped, bobbing his head in understanding. "sorry! You don't have to talk, you can just nod for yes or shake your head for no, and I'll try to ask easier questions." he decided, keeping voice low and posture nonthreatening. Not an easy task, but manageable at least. Splaying his broad paws, he shifted his weight to slowly lift himself back up to his feet. He kept his head lowered between his shoulders so he could better see her movements in the low light of the tunnels. "You're probably looking for something, yeah?" he asked first, taking a hesitant step forward. What was down this way? Gunmetal gaze narrowed slightly as he thought to himself, brow furrowed for a moment. "Down this way is the uhh, the kitchen, food larders, and the baths. There's a few spare caves that we mostly use for storage too." he added, glancing back to see if he got any kind of response to that little list of destinations. |
