"Thank you, Irilyth," she told her long-time caretaker and healer with a smile as she went to pick up the contraceptives and herbs that were provided for her and turned to leave the healing den. The slight nip and chill in the breeze told her that fall would be knocking at their door any day now and she knew well now that would bring the beginning of her heat season along with it. Already she was starting to feel those first lingering effects of it, but she at least knew better what to expect this time around. Now that she and Saracyn were mated she knew she had to make her precautions early. Still, as she made the short walk from the healing den to where her and Saracyn had made their home there was a part of her that longed for them to be able to act as any normal soul mated Mendaciums and start immediately trying for the pups that were so important to their family's beliefs. She knew that they were already treading on thin ice with their laws as it was and knew the risks that could come with doing what she longed for, but that didn't stop the forbidden wish from lingering at the back of her mind.

Stepping into the main chamber of their den, she found it empty. It wasn't surprising given that it was still the middle of the day and Saracyn was bound to still be out hunting, patrolling, or the like. It was probably for the best that he wasn't here as she went to the portion of the den that held their supplies and food and she began to put away the majority of what Irilyth had given her and portioning out a dose for today. She was undoubtedly the logical and analytical one of their relationship and she knew what Saracyn's stance on all of this would be and she didn't want him to be able to sway her or pluck her heartstrings that he was able to play like a masterful magician. Ava sighed softly before drinking the medicine that had been made for her, the slightly sweetened but still slightly herbal and bitter taste coating her tongue. It was all worth it for the undying love she had for her sweet Sara, but that couldn't fully stop the slight ache and longing she felt. Deciding to put it out of her mind, she walked away from the rows of shelving and instead went into her workshop to put some work in on a few of her projects that had fallen to the way side in the days and weeks since she became Matriarch. They were always a good distraction and kept her paws busy.
