It felt like every day their freedom was expanding a little more. First, their world had been the den. Then they had been allowed to explore a specific section of forest attached to the family den. Despite these new freedoms, Wylan wanted more. He wanted to see everything! He wanted to climb and see what the world looked like from above. The way the birds saw the world.

He had found a tree that looked especially promising, and dragged Warden there with him. He put a paw on the toppled tree, and tested its strength. It had landed nestled between two other trees, and made a sort of ramp up. "What do you think, do you think we can climb it?" He asked. Warden's opinion was especially important to him.
