the ground is loose here, comprised of tiny itchy fragments that leap up with every step and cling to their pelt with stubborn insistence. Araneae immediately decides they don’t care for it. they give a brisk shake to dispel the lingering granules, but it proves largely fruitless; twisting their neck, they scowl at the pale flecks strewn across their charcoal fur, stark like stars against a darkening sky.
“get off,” they hiss, bottom lip curling in disgust. “i mean it.” of course, the stuff remains resolutely still and unresponsive. huffing, they give a childish stomp of their foot and glare down, as though the ground has personally betrayed them.
