Honestly, Halo wasn't sure the bear was going to make it at first. The creature had been sickly, wounded, and looked overall worse for wear. Still, as time went on, he stabilized. Day by day he grew stronger, the wounds began to heal, and he perked up alright. The creature was still in one piece. Halo viewed it as a minor miracle, actually. Watching him grow up alongside the children was also lovely, and he seemed to play nicely with them. She's pleased.
Considering the length of time the stitches had been in, the healer figured it had likely been long enough. Halo called for Wylan and his little friend, beginning to prep her work space and lay out the tools. A tiny and very sharp knife, a little pick made from bone, a clean rawhide to cover the work surface. A couple of additional candles to provide adequate light, despite the autumn sun still hanging high in the sky. Antiseptic ointment that Halo had perfected over the time spent up north, one that had a damn good track record. She dried her tools from their quick bath in boiling water and waited for her son and her patient.
