Her teeth catch his paw for a moment. For a split second as he pulls away, she believes she can evade him. Until his paw comes careening back toward her face. Spit flies as her eyes squeeze shut and her face goes whipping to the side. Tears are spilling down her cheeks now as her lips tremble. There is no more courage in her as she begins to cower beneath his towering form.

His hissing words are lost on her deaf ears as she tries to scramble away. Ears flattened, paws moving and digging into the dirt, cries whining in her throat. All she manages to understand is tug of war before she feels the piercing pain. Her tail. No, not her tail. A sob leaves her as she feels him yank her backward. Pulling forward, trying to get out of his grasp, Delphi starts to scream.

“Please! Let me go!” The words are garbled but she manages to get them out. All she wants is to run home. “I’m sorry!” Delphi is shrieking by this point as she continues to try and escape his wrath.
