Arayne had been sneaking up on an especially large fish trapped in the shallows when a raucous male voice drew her attention. She turned in confusion, only to hear a rapid splashing as the fish she had been stalked leaped out of the pool and began scrambling frantically upstream. She watched it flop away, then turned back to the stranger with a look of exasperation. He was brown-colored like here, but his markings were different and contrasted far more than her simple dark overfur. He was hardly bad-looking, though, although at the moment she was a little too annoyed to notice that much. "Well, I was until you scared off the--" She did a double-take.

It was, there were the teeth marks on it. "Hey!" she cried indignantly, hackles rising, "that's mine!" She stalked forward, tail lashing angrily. Of all the rotten things. First he made her lose a catch, and then he stole from her? This indignant reaction was primarily due to her lack of experience. She had practically never hunted alone, and her once-royal status had made her more or less invulnerable to thieves.
