Fear not the forest. Well, in this case, it's the woods. Kiriko pads forward without fear, instead finding comfort in the enclosed space. She couldn't be hunted here. She couldn't be hunted somewhere she could just as easily slip away. Her steps are delicate, gentle, near-trackless. The late spring breeze ruffled her coat, and she feels at peace. The cool, damp environment was strangely comforting. While she wouldn't admit it aloud, she rather likes the woods. Even if they are spooky. Her search is simple, today. Watercress and marigold both grew well here. If she was lucky, she may even be able to find some kava. While it wasn't something she'd stock in abundance, it was good to have on hand, just in case. With a borrowed satchel strapped to her side, the koi fades into the woods, her gaze trained on the ground before her. The sunlight struggled to fight through the trees here, but Kiriko didn't mind. The koi was bright eyed, careful as she moved through the woods. Acutely aware that there could be danger, but some of her paranoia had faded. Her gaze landing on the first of her prizes, Kiriko bent her head to gently pull some marigold up from the root. It didn't have much of a scent, but the golden and orange flowers were unmistakable. Taking them with the root still intact meant she could replant some in her own garden, within the bamboo. Lovely. The red koi was deep in her work, and grateful for the distraction. |
