They had barely gathered at the border before their call was answered. The first to arrive was Álarr and Úlfr stepped forward to address his former pack mate, making it clear to the others that this fight was to be his. "Álarr." He dipped his head in respectful greeting. "It's nothing personal. I respect you, but our brotherhood under Fireside scattered with the pack. New paths have been chosen and I will not stray from mine because of a familiar face. Come. Let me see how you fight when you truly stand to lose something."

Úlfr took a battle stance, ears pinning to his head as his hackles laced down his back. Muscles taught he eyed the older man. He had great respect for Álarr as a fighter but he did bear some resentment toward the older man for not picking up the mantle of leadership when his brother forfeited it. The horned man had the potential to be a good leader, to continue Fireside into the future, but instead he let it fall. He let it lay in the dirt to rot. Had he taken up the alphaship, perhaps this day would not have come, or if it had they would be standing shoulder to shoulder.

Úlfr kicked off hard, launching himself forward as his claws ripped through grass. He sought to charge head on but slightly to his right, seeking to hurl his left shoulder forward into the base of Álarr's throat while at the same time crashing the middle of his chest into the front of Álarr's left shoulder, hoping to hit with enough force to dislocate the joint. Simultaneously his neck reached to his left, jaws flung wide as he tried to grasp the older man's face in hopes of raking his jaws right across the other's eyes. It was a clear message. Treat this fight like your life depends on it… for should you falter… it will.
