Having his children come visit was perhaps one of the best things that had happened since their settling on the mountain. That, the raid win, the engagement... things were coming together. Well and truly coming together. Viðarr was pleased with it, with what he'd built. Built on blood and sweat, they would fuel the viking machine with the blood of their enemies, too. He's pleased with it. By the gods, he's so pleased.

The day was young, and he was excited to spend it with one of his more elusive boys. Alvar was one that he'd seen the least, spent the least time with. The viking king sought out the child, offering a sort of grumble to get the boy's attention. "Alvar," a warmth in his icy eyes as they settled on the child. "What would you like to do today?" The words are gentle, the winter sun shining down on his shoulders. Around them, a freshly fallen snow coated the top of the mountain, stark and glimmering. Another gift from the gods.
