He couldn’t turn around and see what Delphi was doing, but he could hear her. His ears were back, and he strained to hear as much as he could. When she suddenly whines, he starts to struggle again. “What is it?” he growled. Was there a threat, were they about to be eaten? He almost couldn’t stand it anymore, he started to thrash, shoving at the branches around him as he struggled to turn around. He got poked pretty hard in the ribs for his troubles, and was forced to slow down and breath.

Then, suddenly, he can move. He did so at velocity, though crawling backwards wasn’t easy. He scampered out of there as fast as he could, and then suddenly he could turn around. He shot out of the thicket as fast as he could, and he didn’t stop until he was clear of it. The second he was, he stood there. Shaking from limb to limb.
