The confusion of his associate wasn’t lost on him. However, he wasn’t going to pretend that this was a normal game either. For now, he wouldn’t acknowledge Sephiran’s questioning glance, though he certainly could feel that dual-colored gaze burning into his side. He knows! He knows you’re a gutless coward! You can’t pretend anymore! The unfamiliar growls rattled his skull to its core. Aresenn flattened his ears against his head as he focused on the objective- amber gaze fixed to her feminine frame. She was beginning to stir. What are you going to do?! Nothing!! You can lie to everyone else, but you can’t lie to me! He could barely hear her pitiful voice over the rumbling inside. Was it the blood in his ears? Sephiran cooed back to her- he lied to her. Gave her false hope. Something to look forward to though she was vastly mistaken. She was the stupid one. Not him. Their victim took very little encouragement- so quick to believe what she was told by the stranger who blocked the path of the only true exit.

Through several tense breaths, Aresenn remained rigid in place. Not moving, barely blinking, and deadly silent as his mind raced. A mind that no longer felt like his own. The Praetor boy was keenly aware of the sudden taps of claw against stone. Salivating from the anticipation, as soon as he felt the shift of movement from Sephiran, he was already propelling himself forward. The initial tunnel into the depths of the cave system was like a shadowed gauntlet, he could hear his accomplice nearby- though as soon as the mine opened up into multiple branches, Aresenn stuck to the rightmost wall. He already planned how he could methodically clear each segment that their prey could possibly be hiding in. While it might not possibly be the fastest way to hunt their target, it would certainly be the most thorough. Worthless! Absolutely, fucking worthless! He couldn’t help but growl in unison with the roaring in his mind. He could hardly hear himself anymore, lost beneath an all-encompassing energy that he felt he couldn’t possibly contain.
