dying for a way to kill time

The glittering sands between Boreas and Auster were quite close to Ashen’s lands, so Venom would sometimes sneak away to enjoy the beaches for a few hours after a patrol. There was no good reason other than to be alone with her thoughts. Sometimes she would debate about taking the extra trip to see her friend Artorias in the Hallows just on the other side. Sometimes it was just about being close to the ocean and on a beach again. She really hadn’t considered how much she would miss her island home when they returned here to where she was born.

Today the weather was quite nice, if not a little chill because of the winter in Boreas, but it was certainly nice enough for a swim. Or it was for little puppies who didn’t really notice the temperature. Venom’s sunset eyes caught the movement of the boy swimming in the ocean as he tiredly crawled up onto the beaches. Just about half drowned.

Concern filled her. If he had been a full grown adult she wouldn’t have given him much of a second thought, but pups were her weakness so white gloved paws carried her closer to his tired frame. "Are you alright, young one?” She asked softly as she approached slowly, determined not to frighten him. "Do you need any help?”
