Heartache

It would all happen rather quickly, one moment Loccian was getting a drink ad the next a pup had ended up in the water then was curling up against her side. Eyes were wide with worry, breathing quickly, looking around for the child's parents. But then the kid starting to talk, drawing the woman's attention down to her. She said something about having stayed under the water, because it was where her brother was and where he wanted her to stay. She gulped, ears folding back against her head. It took her a few moments to realize where she was, jumping back out of fear with fur bristling when she realized she had been with a wolf.

Loccian would remain where she stood, just watching the kid, and even though she was still shocked and worried, she tried to appear friendly. Ears would raise off her head when the girl seemed to lose the fear and hostility to ask a question in a low voice, could she be her daughter?A look of confusion and disbelief came upon her face at this sudden and crazy question, this kid didn't even know her and was asking to be her daughter. Was it a trick, was she about to be ambushed? The thought would make the grey woman sweep the area around them, eyes looking over everything very carefully and her nose sniffing at the air. Nobody else was here.

The girl would then ask if she could join her pack, one with lots of wolves. Loccian would take a deep breath, her tail sweeping behind her as she looked down at the pup with a gentler gaze before speaking in a soft tone. ?I...? She would stop, clearly hesitant in giving the child an answer. ?You don't even know me little one, where are your parents?? She had to know what was up with her before doing anything, if she had a family out there then she had to bring the child back, and if she was alone without any adults or siblings to watch her, then she would consider taking the child in.
