Dulla grimaced in agreement, contorting her face in a comically dramatic gag. “did we all do something to piss Mother Nature off? because i’m pretty sure i’d remember if i had.” truth be told, she was glad for the company, if only to have a fellow misfortunate to commiserate with. for surely misfortunate was what they were; why else would they be out here in such dismal conditions?
“be honest,” she continued, a teasing hint in her voice, “was it you? you can tell the truth, i promise not to be mad.” taking another step, she winced as yet more mud squished loudly between her toes. “well, maybe I’ll be a little mad.”
