The sheep clambers clumsily to its feet, but even as it tries to rise again, Auriga and her sister, synchronous, close the gaps. They draw their net closed. The sheep realizes it is trapped, and it is desperate. There's a moment of fleeting, horrible realization in those dumb eyes, and Auriga's lips curl up into a smug, satisfied smile as she sweeps her tail side to side, a long, slow wagging motion that does nothing to hide the smirk growing across her face. Yes. This is what she wants. The sheep looks at her, and then Yarra's rending its ear, making it rear and scream.
Auriga charges forward as it does. She hits the sheep in the chest, bowling it over, knocking it down; she lowers her head, and without any ceremony, she begins to rend through wool. Still, she takes her time, yanking the sheep's protective coat away in brutal, eager bites, until she's no longer yanking away the wool at all and is instead sinking hungry teeth into the belly of the sheep, jerking her head back, rending its guts open and apart. The sheep, of course, screams -- but what sheep wouldn't, seeing its guts spill upon the earth?
Auriga sneers down at it.
Her jaws click together, and she lowers her head to tug a strand of gut-meat free, making sure the sheep can see its own glistening entrails.
