It honestly didn’t matter what Sanguine said in that moment. She knew words spoken would only fuel the colossal demon before her. The pale beast was nothing but a ticking tomb bomb and she so happened to be the victim that would set it off.
Lurid’s breath fanned her face. A warning clear as the sun and filled with promise. Left hanging in the air; whilst, time continued to pass. Seconds shifting into minutes. Was she stalling? Probably. The longer she did so she knew that her older sister would make the punishment even worse. Did it really matter? “I have no excuse. We simply just… went our own paths.”
