She chased after him, and for the first time in a long time, he felt young and spry again. All the aches and pains he'd been feeling seemed to melt away now that they were having fun. He reached the sand and when he reached a few yards on the soft sand, she reached his side and playfully tackled him to the ground. Could he have easily stood his ground and kept himself from going down? Absolutely. But in this instance, he was fine with going down. He laughed. She laughed. They were having a good time. They were wet from the ocean, the salty air, and the night sky blanketing them. He inhaled a deep breath, as he turned to her. "Claire...have I ever told you just how much I love you? That I'd give you anything and everything?" |
