As he had sort of predicted, her attack went dangerously wide. She missed the whole tree! Bas was making small choking noises as he struggled to keep himself from doubling over in laughter. “The tree, Hazel!” He called out encouragingly to her, and she prodded carefully at the bark with the knife.

Alright, good enough, she managed to scrap the edge of the red skin pinned there. He crouched down in front of her - hoping she didn’t suddenly turn and swing that knife wide again - “Alright, you can take the blindfold off now” he told her, crouching in front of her with something in his paws, the skin pinned to the tree beside him.
