those dance scenes at the end of barbie films

This was a lot of fun, sure she was a little anxious about messing up and stepping on someone's paw, but everyone seemed nice here. Approachable enough that it didn't make her feel all awkward and fumbly, fall back on troupes that seemed cool in fiction but would be entirely weird and out of place in real life, you know? She twirled on the spot, a cute giggle passing her lips as she span, feeling all sorts of pretty and elegant. Everything she'd hoped tonight would be- except till someone stepped to cut in. In one of her stories such a turn of events would have been thrilling, but in the here and now Maki felt...well, it was someone she knew but hadn't expected this from at all.

Akito, the guy who was very cool but also kinda mean? She didn't dislike anyone, that seemed like a lot of effort, but she wasn't entirely sure how she felt about him either. Was this a conflict? It felt conflicting

"Oh um-yeah, sure." She didn't mean to sound disinterested, but what little she knew of him she thought Akito would be too cool to dance, you know? Which was totally something she was secretly into, would dwell on a lot later, might even ramble to Delphi about.

Stepping up, her tail wagged high, cute little swishes, her metaphorical rose-tinted glasses as pink and gleaming as her albino eye. The guy was supposed to lead, right?
