Snarling and struggling, Aurelia kept wading farther from the shore. Neither of them could feel the sand anymore. And, the water was so cold, his legs were starting to go numb. It should have been alarming enough to send them both back to the beach. But Sepiran was too enveloped by his game, and Aurelia, was trying to avoid it. He didn’t answer her with a taunt. Instead, his jaws closed around the tip of her tail, deep enough to draw blood, threatening to chew it clean off. Pulling his head back, he wanted to create resistance. Stopping her from moving forward, even as she paddled. And then, he suddenly let go. Allowing the blood to stream into the ocean, feeling its minuscule warmth tickle his skin. Pumping his legs harder, pushing himself to swim faster. Sephiran came up beside her and threw his leg over her shoulders, jaws snaking to her scruff to grab it.
