Steps In The Right Direction

In many ways Jay was a lot like her sister Vine, driven not just by the need to not disappoint her parents, but a strong desire to make them proud. Their parents were great ones and she had no reason to doubt that they wouldn't be proud of her, but she was still driven by the need to really, really make them proud of how well they'd raised their kids. It felt even more important now that they were yearlings, given more freedom than they'd had as pups. She didn't quite feel like an adult but she definitely felt like she was on her way.
Finding Vine lying and working on something was enough to catch her attention. Jay headed over to her, tail waving where it was curled above her back. She wasted no time in settling in beside her, eager to watch what she was doing. "Whatcha working on?" She'd ask, definitely interested in what Vine was working on - and already starting to brainstorm how she could work with the twine, if her sister had any to spare.
