Jael's yelp actually froze his blood a little, and the paw swung in his direction too. He dropped to the ground and ducked, narrowly avoiding the massive paws with their sharp claws. Oh shit... but they'd make pretty cool gloves or jewelry, right? Probably wasn't the right time to be having crafting thoughts, the bear was still very much alive.

It stepped back when he lunged for the other ankle, and he really hoped Jael saw it, the bear seemed to be leaning back in slow motion. "Let go!" He shouted, angling his head for another decent shove just to send the bear on its way. he wasn't convinced the fall would be enough, but at least it would give them some space.
