While Calico Jack believes he is being super sneaky as he bypasses most of the fighting, a small, winged boy obliviously sees him. A shouted word has the large young man pausing, his body almost flush to the ground since he had been slinking around. Slipping and sliding, a tiny yearling plants them self in his path and bristles, shouting at him to leave. Icy eyes blink in surprise and Calico Jack slowly unfolds himself, raising to his towering height over the toy sized wolf.

Concern paints his features as he looks at the brave boy, not wishing to harm them even though he is duty bound to steal the chickens. Darting his gaze around, he spies fights ending and new ones breaking out but no one else seems to see him and the small boy. With a small sigh, he lowers his head so that is more level with them, his defenses set and ready for if the yearling decides to attack him while hoping that they can settle this with words.

A sad, apologetic smile wiggles his lips as his eyebrows lift and Jack gently says, “Hey kid. Sorry but I cannot leave without the chickens that my Raid King needs.” A paw juts out in the direction of Gilgamesh for a moment before it returns to ground and he shuffles his front paws in a show anxiety. “Look, I don’t want to hurt you and, honestly, if we fight, I might accidentally injure you. So, can you please just… move?”

A warm, uncertain smile tugs at the corners of his lips as he looks at the stranger, knowing in his heart of hearts that he would never forgive himself if he really did hurt such a fragile, beautiful creature. So, Calico Jack switches his fighting tactics and decides to verbally spar with him instead of biting and stuff. Hopefully, the boy will see it his way and simply allow him to pass.
