As his emerald gaze continued to scan the temporary battle field, his hackles raised and shoulders tense as he tried to make heads or tails of what was going on through the rain in front of him, a colorful girl suddenly appeared in his line of sight. Taken aback, he staggered back a step, his eyes widening at the wild look in the pastel girl's eyes. The threat she made as she told him that he was going to wish she had gone for the bear made his ears fold back and he snarled as he tried–and partially failed–to remember the bits of fight training he had done. It wasn't like he had never been in a fight before–he had fought off predators and the like numerous times–but the sudden onslaught of other wolves invading their territory in the middle of the night and the rain had him so disoriented he wasn't sure what to do. This fight hungry younger girl was just icing on the cake to get his heart racing.
"W-Wait!" he stammered, but the watercolored girl was already lunging at him. Even though she was younger than him, probably not even a year old yet, she was very nearly as tall as he was so it wasn't difficult for her to reach her forelegs toward his neck. He quickly ducked down, his forepaws sliding in the mud almost a blessing in disguise as the extra momentum helped him get out of the way faster. He wasn't able to doge out of the way though, just down, so he wasn't able to entirely escape her attack as she practically fell on top of him with her teeth landing somewhere on the back of his neck. He felt Copper scramble out of the way, the stoat's little toes gripping onto his wet fur as he skittered down his back, so at least Dorian knew that Copper was able to get out of harm's way.
The position he landed in didn't leave him a lot of options to retaliate so he turned his head to try and bite down around her right foreleg, wanting to yank and pull at the limp to hopefully topple her off of him and onto the ground. The way her open jaws had lunged right for his face told him plenty about the fact that she was actually trying to hurt him so he felt like he had no choice to do the same. He knew enough about wounds and how they healed to how what kinds of skin tears would likely scar and normally he avoided those kinds of bites in scars, but today was not a day to pull punches.
"Dorian"
