oh, how she’s missed this; the terrible symphony of the Saxe siblings, the morbid choreography of this wicked dance. it feels as though it’s been so long since she and her brothers have been united like this, unified in their shared violence. it’s bloody and raw and so fucking beautiful. it’s what lies at the very heart of her depraved little soul.

as Seph rips a chunk from its face and Cifa rends flesh from its flank, Yarra rolls out of the range of the bear’s furious swinging, those yellow teeth just missing her by a hair’s breadth. she’s gripped with the icy sensation of death slithering over her grave, a thrill that heats and freezes her blood simultaneously. it’s the sensation of being alive.

darting back in range, Yarra sinks her teeth into the vulnerable flesh of its neck, biting down until she feels a crunch. ordinarily it’d prove harder to get that close to a bear’s throat, but it’s divided between three ruthless attackers, and it’s blows have become reckless and sloppy. still, Yarra receives a slash across her flank, the wound shallow but ugly, spilling blood onto the earth in morbid rivulets. the pain throbs in her chest and ears, dulled by the adrenaline of the fight, and Yarra giggles, giddy as a girl receiving her first real kiss. when she goes for the throat again, she uses it’s shoulder to boost herself onto its back, refusing to be dislodged no matter how hard the bear thrashes.
