Ken had not expected to run into a bear. His only previous experience had been against the big shaggy brown bear that he had taken on with Jael and he kinda wished he had the plucky collie's tenacity to help him now because by golly gosh this thing was huge.

A nervous laugh left his chest uncontrolled, this was happening huh? All charging white fury and roaring at him? Uuuhhhh, it wasn't like he was big enough to stop the bear in it's tracks, so maybe he'd have to try evasive tactics and hope it tripped over it's own feet. Mum had taken him though how to face a smaller opponent, but this was the direct opposite of that!

Dodging to the left, and hoping to place some sort of tree between himself and the attacker, he managed to catch a glancing blow that sent his back legs sliding. It was enough to get the adrenalin pumping though, maybe there would be an opening where he could sneak in a cheeky nip to one of those giant legs?
