Her single win during the raid had filled Maki with a burning desire for more adrenaline, more tension! In hindsight, the fact she'd won at all was a near miracle. Perhaps she was starting to perfect the art of wild flailing, though she didn't remember it quite like that. Her expression had been stern, intense, lips curling back in a serious grimace, shoulders set and muscles coiled like a spring. None of her characters would have had any problem doing what needed to be done. but her reality never quite lined up to what she imagined. It was all so easy and smooth, and fighting in real life just wasn't.

She lingered on the battlefield, had decided this time would be different! That her limbs would move the way she wanted them to, that she'd be an ass kicking, no nonsense protagonist for once.
