Beauregard’s heart was in his throat, his paws sloshing through mud and the flooded lands. Even with the rain he could smell the scent of the tiger grow stronger and, worse yet, Trixy’s scent was there too. He’d burst on scene to hear Bellatrix call out and fling herself at the tiger. Who the hell was Frank!? He couldn’t think of that right now, a snarl ripping from his maw as he closed the distance. The cat was trying to wrap around his daughter, so Beauregard aimed to latch onto its scruff close to its shoulders. The cat had been so preoccupied with grappling with his daughter that it hadn’t paid attention to the cream wolf until his fangs found purchase in that scruff. The cat yowled, attempting to twist its front half to swipe at him. Meanwhile its back legs kicked out toward the pixie, hoping to toss her away from it.
