The world was drowned out for Ruby. She didn’t seek support, nor did she deserve any. The detestable woman had drowned her first litter, and her life was mottled with the blood she had spilled. The gods be damned; Ruby, through and through, couldn’t care less about anyone, and that included herself. But damn did she relish in the blood she tasted. Growls escaped her throat while she felt their bodies shift. Her teeth detached from the larger Sparrow’s shoulder. Ruby’s scruff remained rolled in the attempt to protect the back of her neck. Ears pinned to the back of her skull in hopes it would deter Sparrow from getting a hold on her. Alas, she was not invulnerable like she would like to think.
Ruby’s eyes still narrowed to slit the muscles around her face, bunching to protect her muzzle. Sparrow would rear up on her hind legs, providing Ruby with an opportunity. Planting her paws firmly into the ground, her toes spread into the terrain, tail keeping its level to the left for balance. Her stomach clenched, muscles moving underneath her skin for support. Ruby attempted to dive forward, tucking her chin downward. Sparrow’s left paw would slam down on Ruby’s right side just past the shoulder, cat claws gouging out a moderate wound that bled profusely, causing her to growl out in pain under the more massive woman.
Ruby’s shoulders rolled inward, the skin bunching around her neck. Jaws snapping open, she aimed forward at Sparrow’s left rib cage. Her aim was to tear open the previously thin skin, but it would not save her from Sparrow’s bite. Sparrow came down at an angle, her teeth crushing into Ruby’s right back while Ruby attempted to get underneath the giant. The teeth would puncture, bleeding out in a severe fashion. As Sparrow tried to come down, Ruby aimed to jut her right shoulder upwards into Sparrow’s left armpit. She would try to topple the giant in her efforts to preserve her own life.
